Robert "Bob" Gura

Robert "Bob" Gura passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine Gura. Dearest father of Wendy (Edward) Schmidt, Robin (Nicholas) Mayer, Chuck (Renee) Gura, Christopher (Jessica) Gura, and the late Angel Marie. Cherished grandfather of Alex, Hayley, Lauren (Billy), Ashley, Brandon (Lindsey), Daniel, Spencer, Madeline, Abigail, Blake, Candice, and Cameo. Adoring great-grandfather of Chandler and Liam. Loving brother of Ronald Gura and the late Diane Haskin. Bob is also preceded in death by his parents Michael and Margaret Gura. Bob was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Air Force at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan from 1960-1964. Following his service, Bob started working at the Chrysler Corporation and rose to being a production manager until his retirement in 2007. Bob was a recipient of many leadership and quality awards and was a well-liked supervisor of his team. Outside of work, Bob preferred to spend his time on the golf course. He played many different courses throughout the country with his numerous golf buddies. He especially enjoyed a memorable trip to play the course at St. Andrews in Scotland. With a passion for art, Bob proved his talents by designing, drawing, and painting. For years, Bob created sets and backdrops for charity fundraisers, private parties, and the Fraser Figure Skating Club’s annual ice shows during the 1970s and 1980s which his daughters participated in. Bob was always a lover of Disney animation and created wall murals for his children and then many grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Visitation Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 3-9pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Wujek- Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr Road at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate Friday, January 16th, 2026 at 11:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 12pm at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48042. Robert will be laid to rest with Geraldine at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
