Raymond John Grubb

Raymond John Grubb, of New Haven, Michigan, passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 41. He was born at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit, attended De La Salle High School , a 2002 graduate that went on to attend 2 years at Western Michigan University and finished his 2 years at Wayne State University. Raymond was a loving, devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He shared 14 wonderful years with the love of his life, his wife, Kera (nee: Matuja) Grubb. Together they built a beautiful life centered around love, family, and unwavering support for one another. Their three children, Oliver (15), Ora (10), and Forrest (7), were the absolute pride and joy of his life and meant everything to him. In addition to his wife and children, Raymond leaves behind his mother, Kimberly Grubb; his sister, Misty; and his nephew, Colt, whom he adored and was deeply proud of. He is also survived by family in Pennsylvania and Ohio, where he spent much of his childhood, as well as his extended family through Kera. Nothing brought Raymond greater happiness than spending time with his family. Whether cheering on his kids from the sidelines at countless sporting events, taking trips up north to enjoy the outdoors, or simply being together, he treasured every moment. He found great solitude and peace being out in nature, where he could slow down, reflect, and feel most at ease. He was the pillar of strength and guidance for his family, always encouraging his children to persevere, be kind, rise above challenges, and never give up or worry about what others thought. His wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering belief in those he loved will remain with them forever. Raymond proudly served as Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor at Magna Powertrain in Shelby Township. In just three years, his hard work and dedication earned him three promotions. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and known for his kindness, humility, and genuine concern for those around him. He cared deeply about the people he worked with and made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Raymond had a deep love for all animals, showing compassion and kindness to every living creature he encountered. His gentle heart was evident in the way he cared for people and animals alike. Something Raymond always said, especially to his children… “Only compare yourself to yourself; never let the opinions of others define who you are. Always get back up when you’re knocked down. It all starts with mindset, so always get back up and never stop trying when things get tough.” And to “Be kind, especially to those less fortunate.” Raymond’s greatest legacy was his perseverance, even when others doubted him. His strength, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family touched countless lives. Though his time with us was far too short, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Visitation Friday 3-8pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile), Sterling Heights. Instate Saturday 9:30am until time of 10am Mass at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 S. Nunneley (S. of Metro Parkway, E. of Groesbeck), Clinton Township.
