Michael Frank Sera

Michael F. Sera, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 62. Michael was the beloved father of Sivhaun Sera, Nolan Sera, and his loyal fur companion, Koegel Albert Sera. He was the cherished son of Assunta (Jay D. Tuthill) and the late Albert Sera, and the dearest brother of Lori (Robert) Sellman and Mark (Melissa) Sera. Michael’s greatest love in life was his family. He found immense joy in coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams, always recognizing their potential and pushing them to be the best versions of themselves. He passed down his passion for the outdoors, dirt bike riding, and fishing, creating lifelong memories filled with adventure and laughter. An avid animal lover, Michael cared deeply for all creatures, from his beloved dog to pet turtles, hamsters, and fish. His compassionate heart extended beyond animals—he always assumed the best in everyone he met. He was the first to offer a helping hand, embodying kindness and generosity in all aspects of his life. Michael’s love for food was evident in his mastery of the grill and his appreciation for Italian cooking. Whether he was making sausages, pasta, or grilling the perfect steak or ribs, he brought people together through the joy of a shared meal. Michael's father instilled in him a love for cars and dirt bikes. He bought his first dirt bike using the money he received for college tuition, much to the concern of his beloved mother. Over the years, Michael has enjoyed many adventures up north with his wonderful friends. Michael will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched. His family and friends will forever cherish the laughter, warmth, and unwavering love he brought into their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew him. Visitation Wednesday February 19th, from 3-8pm with a 7pm Rosary at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons (Shelby Twp.), 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile. Funeral Thursday, February 20th, Instate from 9:30am until time of 10am Mass at the chapel of St. Hugo of the Hills Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd, Bloomfield Hills. The family encourages donations to Oakland County Animal Shelter in Michael’s memory.
