Maurizio "Mo" Lentini

Maurizio Salvatore Lentini, lovingly known by many as "Mo" or "MoDadde," age 55, of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He left this world surrounded by the love of his family and friends who never left his side. He was born on August 13, 1970, in Custonaci, Sicily. He and his family would later immigrate from Sicily and make Michigan their home. Maurizio proudly became a United States citizen on November 21, 2008, a milestone that brought him great joy and pride. Maurizio was a proud employee at Ford Motor Company’s Sterling Heights plant, where he worked for more than 12 years. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with General Motors and also managed King Kar Wash for 7 years, a role he handled better than the owner could ever admit, something the family laughed about often. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he built along the way. Maurizio was a devoted son whose love for his parents knew no limits. He cared for his mother with tenderness until her final breath and continued to care for his father with the same selfless heart until his own. His quiet strength, compassion, and sense of duty to his family were the truest reflection of the man he was. He was fiercely kind, loyal, and full of life. He loved to travel and see the world, and he never missed a chance to check in on the people he loved. He was the one who would call just to say hello, stop by when you weren’t feeling well, or make you laugh when you needed it most. His heart was as big as his personality, and he had a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for. Maurizio is survived by his loving father, Giuseppe Lentini; his brothers, Alessandro (Virginia) and Alfredo; and his chosen-sister, Valerie (Clarance) Savage. He was the cherished uncle of Caterina (Gerald) Schueler, Giuseppe (Desiree) Lentini, Angela (Scott) Pitrago, Alessandra (Anthony) Connors, Marco Lentini, and Elizabeth Lentini. He was also the adored great-uncle of Gino and Camilla Schueler, Enzo and Bria Pitrago, and Aaliyah Lentini. He was a proud Godfather to Giuseppe Lentini, Nico Savage, and Sabrina Vultaggio, a role he held with deep love and pride. Maurizio is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Anna Maria and Joseph Vultaggio and Caterina and Matt Moric, and his many cousins who loved him deeply and shared an unbreakable bond with him throughout his life. Maurizio is now reunited in heaven with his beloved mother, Caterina Lentini; his grandparents, Concetta and Alessandro Lentini and Alfio and Maria Stella Vultaggio; his aunts, Sina, Maria, and Rosetta; and his best friend, Benny Cangialosi. Maurizio’s circle of friends was wide and filled with love, but a very special group of men stood by his side for more than half his life. They were more than friends; they were his brothers. Their love, laughter, and loyalty carried him through every season of his life and every moment of his illness, and their devotion, especially in his final days, will never be forgotten. Maurizio lived his life with an open heart and an endless capacity to love. His smile, his compassion, and his presence will live forever in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 30th, from 11:00am-8:00pm at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., (Shelby) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. Instate 10:30am followed by a 11:00am Mass on Friday, October 31st, at St. John Vianney Church, 54045 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Township, MI 48315.
