Mark William Wickson

WICKSON, Mark, W., October 1, 2026 Age 79. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith, has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His family grieves his loss while finding comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he rests in the loving presence of God. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1947 to Eleanor and Lawrence Wickson, Mark graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School and Michigan State University. He went on to earn a master’s degree in elementary education from Wayne State University, preparing for a career devoted to teaching and serving others. Mark worked as an elementary educator from 1970 to 1980 and served as principal of Zion Christian School from 1981 to 1993. His years in Christian education brought together two meaningful parts of his life: his commitment to learning and his faith in Jesus Christ. He later brought his skills and interest in technology to Chrysler’s technical team, where he worked from 1995 until 2017. At the heart of Mark’s life was his Christian faith. Studying the Bible and spending time in prayer were deeply important to him. He sought wisdom, strength, and comfort in God’s Word, and his devotion leaves his family with a lasting reminder of the power of prayer and the hope found in Christ. Mark shared his life with his beloved and devoted wife, Bethany Wickson. He was a father to Rachel Sheppard (Patrick), Jason Wickson (Naomi), and Lauren Wickson (Kristen). He was a grandfather to Hannah Sheppard, Carly Sheppard, Bethany Sheppard, Evangeline Wickson, and Teagan Wickson. His family honors his memory with deep love and gratitude for the life they shared. Mark enjoyed building computers, hunting, and fishing. He found pleasure in traveling out west and vacationing in Florida—opportunities to explore, rest, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. As those who loved Mark remember him, they give thanks for his life, his faith, and his years of service. His absence will be deeply felt, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain. In their sorrow, his family holds fast to the Christ’s promise that death is not the end and that, through Jesus Christ, there is hope of a joyful reunion. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” —2 Timothy 4:7, KJV May Mark’s memory be a blessing, and may the peace of Christ surround all who mourn him.
