Linda Jean Yow

Yow, Linda Jean, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2025. Linda was born on April 8th, 1947, to Betty and James Gray in Detroit, MI. Linda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Don Yow; her parents, Betty (Bruce) Morrison and James Gray; her twin brothers, Keith and Kenneth Gray; and her grandparents, Margaret and Oscar Fortner. Beloved Mother of Terri (Todd) Catchpole, Jim (Lauri) Yow, Debbie (Chris) Hild, Nancy Yow, and Kelly (Kent) Muntz. Dearest Grandmother of Shawn (Maddie) Martin, Josh (Courtney) Catchpole, Sarah (Matt) Bruner, Brandon (Breanna) Catchpole, Sami Hild, Tyler Hild, Tabatha (Maddie) Muntz, Jacob Hild, and Andrew Muntz. Dearest Great Grandmother of Jaxon Catchpole, Nash Martin, Brinley Catchpole, Cole Bruner, and Luna Martin. Linda was also the ultimate Dog Mom. Linda’s love for Christinia, Puggie, and Abby knew no bounds. After Joe’s passing, these faithful companions became her constant source of comfort and joy. They filled her home with laughter and her heart with strength, proving that love comes in many forms—even four paws. After graduating from Utica High School in 1966, she went on to be a stay-at-home Mom, raising her 5 children in Warren, MI. Linda entered the workforce in 1980 for the Van Dyke Public School District. She worked as a kitchen aide, a bus driver, and a secretary in the transportation department. Linda finally retired after 30 years of service in 2012. Her career in the school district allowed her to be home during the summers and attend all her children’s sporting events. Linda was a devout Christian and an active member at Hope Community Church in Sterling Heights, MI. She participated enthusiastically in church events, enjoyed day trips and mission trips, and shared her love of music as a passionate choir singer. Linda cherished studying scripture and often sent daily devotions to her grandchildren, nurturing their spiritual growth. Linda was an avid bowler, spending many evenings bowling with her mother and her daughters at Bonanza Lanes in Warren, MI. In addition, Linda enjoyed crafting, making tie blankets, working on puzzles, and baking her famous pumpkin rolls. She also enjoyed travelling and attending dances with her friends, embracing life with joy and fellowship. Linda’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and friendship. She touched countless hearts with her kindness, her unwavering devotion to God, and her joyful spirit. Whether singing in the church choir, cheering at her children’s sporting events, or sharing her famous pumpkin rolls, Linda brought warmth and love to every moment. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her guidance and grace. Though she is no longer with us, her light will continue to shine in the memories and traditions she leaves behind. Funeral Saturday December 13th, instate 10am at Hope Community Church 42259 Hayes Rd, Sterling Heights until the 11am funeral service.
