Josephine "Pina" Gerardi passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Antonino Gerardi. Dearest mother of Josie (the late Vito) Messina, Marian (Robert Krause) Taylor, and Daniela (Joseph) Luna. Cherished grandmother of Nicolina (Andy), Anthony (Keelie Johnstone), Stefan, Joseph, Lorenzo, Andre, and Emilia. Loving great-grandmother of Ella and Jane. Sister-in-law of Giovanna (the late Filippo) Gerardi, the late Laureato & Anna Giacalone, Giovanna (the late Anthony) Giordimaina, Nicola & Giuseppina Gerardi, Antonia (the late Thomas) Milanis, Armando and Antonia Gerardi, Gaspare & Rosa Gerardi and Giuseppina (the late Onofrio) Catalano. Adoring cousin of Vince (Antoinette) Cilluffo. Step-grandmother of Andrew Messina, Marisa (Jack) Baginski. Step-great grandmother of Deborah (David) DeCoster and Alyssa (Tyler) Baginski. Step-great-great grandmother of Benjamin DeCoster and Reagan DeCoster. Josephine is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and by her dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonino and Nicolina DiGiorgio. Pina was the life of the party, the heart of her home, and a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and open doors. To know her was to be welcomed—whether you arrived expected or not, you never left her house hungry or without feeling cared for. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, conversation, and connection, and her table always had room for one more. Feeding people wasn’t just something she did; it was how she showed love. She had an incredible gift for bringing people together. Her laugh filled a room, her warmth put everyone at ease, and her presence turned ordinary moments into cherished memories. Friends felt like family, and family felt endlessly loved. Above all else, she will be remembered for her generous heart, her joyful spirit, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Visitation Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 from 2:30-9pm with a Rosary service at 7pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48088.
