Gerald “Jerry” Blackstone passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on March 25 at the age of 67. Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, cherished uncle, cousin, and a true friend to so many. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him loved him. He had a rare gift—he took the time to truly know people, always remembering names and making everyone feel seen and valued. Jerry was kind, caring, and had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—bowling, playing euchre, strumming on the guitar and cheering on his beloved Detroit Lions. Those moments, especially when shared with family and friends, were what meant the most to him. Jerry dedicated his entire professional career to the Hilti Group where he began working right out of college. Over 37 years, he grew through various roles, ultimately serving as a Regional Sales Manager. His commitment, work ethic, and relationships made a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him. For nearly 28 years, Jerry faced significant health challenges. Despite being dealt more than his fair share, he never complained. Instead, he carried a perspective that defined his strength and humility—always believing there was someone else who had it worse. His resilience and grace were nothing short of inspiring. Above all else, Jerry’s greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Blackstone, William and Concetta Meadlock and his sister, Cheryl. He is survived by his devoted brother, Kenneth (Paulette); the love of his life, his wife, Lori; his treasured children Nick(Amanda) and Chad; his stepchildren, whom he loved as his own, Kristin and Tom (Nicole); and his five beloved grandchildren—Leo, James, Everly, Sage, and Kennedy—who were truly the light of his life. He also leaves behind many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
