YACOUB, Fuad "Fred" Saleh. June 29, 2015. Age 87. Beloved husband of Elaine Azara Karadsheh for 53 years. Son of the late Saleh Odeh Yacoub and the late Afifeh Salem Qunsol of Madaba, Jordan. Loving father of Nancy Yacoub, Nadia (Keith) Cavallini, Dianne (Eric) Crawford, Michael (Jennifer) Yacoub and Marvin (Leah) Yacoub. Proud grandfather and loving Jiddo of Hannah, Hailey, Noah, Heather, Bethany, Eddie and Lily. Dearly beloved brother of sister Ibtihaj (Sami) Twal, and to sisters Jamileh (deceased) and Badiea (deceased) and five late brothers Iyad, Saleem, Shaker, Kamil and Sami. Devoted uncle to many neices and nephews Wafa, Fahad, Feiral, Fayeg, Fayez, Fawwaz Yacoub; Yousef, Ziad, Saleh (deceased), Sabah (deceased), Tagreed (deceased) Yacoub; George, Ramzi, Romel, Rula, Nancy and Lucy Twal; Waroud, Lucy, Fadia and Marcel (deceased) Yacoub; Saleh, Ranne, Terese, Randa and RenahYacoub; Nabil (deceased), Nidal, Nazeh (deceased) Yacoub; and Elaine and Vivian Sahyoun. Fuad emigrated to the United States after he was awarded a scholarship by Greenville College in Illinois for his outstanding academic performance in his country of origin, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. As a university student, he spent his summers working in Detroit in different positions related to the auto industry. Upon graduation from Greenville with a BS in Science, he moved to Michigan to receive training in an emerging program, the field of medical technology, and was one of the first medical technicians in the USA at the time. He was certified for decades by the Board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and worked at the leading hospitals in southeast Michigan throughout his career. Family was always the most important thing in his life. He worked very hard to establish a new life in the United States of America, at times working up to two jobs to support his family. When he become a naturalized citizen, he never forgot his family in Jordan. Over the course of years, he became a well-known, highly respected leader within the Jordanian community for sponsoring many individuals in their desire to move to the USA and pursue opportunities for better education, work and quality of life. His vision, generosity and kindness touched the lives of thousands of people as multiple generations of family members became successful lawyers, engineers, doctors, authors, business leaders and engaged community members contributing greatly to the fabric of the USA. As an influential member of the Ezaizat family in Madaba, Jordan, he was well known for his honesty, hard work ethic, intelligence and care for his large extended family. He was a pioneer; and, his legacy will always be his willingness to generously share with others the same opportunity he dearly cherished which was to live the American Dream. Fuad had a great passion and appreciation for reading, art, classical music, space exploration, scientific discovery, history, old folk Arabic music and following the ebb and flow of the stock market. Most of all, he loved his beautiful wife Elaine more than words can describe and was profoundly grateful for her faithful devotion to him as he faced many health challenges in his later years. Visitation Wednesday 3-9pm. Funeral Thursday 10:30am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
