Debra Ann Macinkowicz

Debra “Debby” Macinkowicz passed away on January 4, 2026, after courageously facing cancer for seven and a half years. She was the loving wife of Chip and amazing mom to Sara (Joe) Bell, Jason (Mellissa) Macinkowicz, Jessie Carter, and Chris Macinkowicz. Debby was also an extraordinary grandmother to Ashley (Brian), Jacob, Ally, Nathan, Abby, Anthony, Ryan, and Savannah, as well as a wonderful great-grandmother to Teagan, Bryce, and Emmett. She is survived by her sister Pat (Laura); sisters-in-law Ann Marie (the late Jay), Susan, and Michele (Hiro), brothers-in-law John (Sunny) and Hank (Linda), and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Regina Wieczorek, mother- and father-in-law, Helen and Henry Macinkowicz, and her late sister-in-law Mary Ann (the late David). Debby studied to be a nurse after high school and became an LPN, where she used that knowledge to help elderly patients at nursing homes. Once she saw how much Chip liked being an electrician, she became determined to be one too. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming one of Macomb County’s first female Master electricians. Together with Chip, she ran Mac Electric for more than forty years, enjoying fieldwork and teaching aspiring electricians, including her own children. Debby found immense joy in her grandchildren and always joked that, had she known how much fun being a grandma would be, she’d have skipped straight to it! Her favorite thing was watching her grandchildren doing the things they loved, whether it was theater, cheerleading, baseball, playing instruments, basketball, or even just playing with their toys, it was always the highlight of her day! She enjoyed crocheting items for her family and friends; she loved seeing their faces when they received their gifts. Going upnorth to the cabin was one of her favorite past times, watching the fireworks over the lake on the fourth of July was the best time of the year for her! Debby’s most favorite thing in the world, behind her husband, was Fred Flintstone. Her house was filled with so much Flintstones memorabilia that she joked she had more than the Flintstones Museum (which she found out when she visited that she did!). Her “boyfriend” Chuck Norris was a close second, she could recite every episode of Walker, Texas Ranger word for word, and you better not interrupt her during an episode or you’d get a talking to! Inspired by him, she even took karate classes. She will be severely missed by everyone; her sassiness and feistiness will be remembered by all! She was fiercely protective of all the people and things that she cherished and that legacy will forever live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5-9pm and Friday, January 9, 2026 from 2-9pm with a Sharing of Memories at 7pm. Funeral Service Saturday, January 10, 2026 11am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway in Sterling Heights, Ml. Interment to take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family using Venmo @Paul-Macinkowicz
