Ann Marie Bailey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Marie Bailey of Romeo, Michigan on Wednesday March 12, 2025, at the age of 56. Beloved wife of Brian. Proud mother of Luke Bailey and Alexander Bailey. Loving daughter of the late Donald & Rose Marie Oberski and daughter in law of the late John & the late Bernadine Bailey. Dearest sister of John Oberski, Kathy Gilpatrick, Paul (Debbie) Oberski, Chris (Bridgette) Oberski, Jill (Paul Sawyer) Glair & Robert Oberski. Dear sister-in-law of the late Chuck (Nina) Bailey. Also remembered by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. “Annie” as she was affectionately called by family and friends was born on March 16, 1968, in Warren, Michigan. Ann was the 6th of 7 children to Don & Rose Oberski. Ann attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School (K-8) in Detroit, and then attended Centerline St. Clement High School. After graduating from St. Clement in 1986, she attended Oakland University, later transferring to Wayne State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree as an Occupational Therapist in 1991. Ann began her work career as an Occupational Therapist at Shelby Nursing Center and then to St. Josephs Mercy of Macomb Hospital (now Henry Ford Hospital) in Clinton Township. Throughout her life, Ann was guided by her Catholic faith, compassion and kindness to others, being a great listener, and had an unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Ann met the love of her life, Brian, in 1992 at a going-away party for a mutual friend. On June 18, 1994, they exchanged vows and embarked on a wonderful 30-year journey of marital bliss. After residing in Sterling Heights for 5 years, Ann & Brian moved to Romeo, where Ann made countless friendships that she cherished to the very end. Ann enjoyed the small town feel of Romeo, attending church at St. Clement, and later became involved in the community joining the Romeo Monday Club. In 2004, after 10 years of marriage, Ann & Brian were blessed with twin sons, Luke and Alex. Ann enjoyed and cherished her time with the twins, becoming involved in their activities and interests. She sacrificed her full-time Occupational Therapist career to become a contingent employee so she could have more quality time with Brian, and just being “Mom” to her boys. Over the years, Ann had many interests including playing checkers, (Lipke Park Checker champ in her early years) riding horses, golfing, spending time with her pet dogs, celebrating Birthdays & Holidays, and a friendly game of Poker at the Oberski family get-togethers. More than anything, Ann enjoyed the simple things in life, just being there for someone in need, and spending time with friends and family. Ann is joined in Heaven by her loving Father, Donald, as well as her loving Aunt Florence & Uncle Tommy who always treated Ann like their own daughter. Visitation Sunday 4-8pm, Monday 2-8pm with 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. (SHELBY TOWNSHIP). Funeral Tuesday Instate 9:30am at St. Clement of Rome Church 343 S. Main St. (Old Van Dyke btw. 31 and 32 Mile Rds.) until time of Mass at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s honor to The Father Solanus Casey Center located at 1780 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207, or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).
