Funeral Tuesday instate 9:30am at San Francesco Catholic Church 22870 South Nunneley (Btw Gratiot & Harper) until time of Mass 10am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Virginia and Tony loved to dine out and take trips to get away. They visited Mexico and Florida several Times, they visited California, Virginia's favorite place, multiple times, as well as traverse city, Chicago, Boston and New York, as well as several visits to Tony's longtime client in Knoxville. They went to Italy and Greece and went to Maui for their honeymoon. During their honeymoon on Maui they visited remote locations, and one day they got lost and were very tired. Tony said, "wait here while I go this way to see if this is the way back". Tony returned, and VIRGINIA was gone. Tony looked everywhere and called 911 on his cell. He was surprised they asked him if they had had an argument. He was panicked on the call and they said they were on the way, after which he ran down the trail yelling her name. After several minutes She finally responded from further down the trail "what is wrong, I just wanted to see where this leads?" Tony called 911 back to let them know she was ok, after his heartbeat got back to normal. Needless to say, they cared about each other greatly from the beginning. They were the perfect couple and often knew what the other was thinking. Virginia and Tony both valued healthy living and strived to eat healthy and were conscious of the environment. Virginia also loved cats and other animals. Her favorite cat was cinnamon who passed away in 2016 at 19 years old. Cinnamon was the perfect companion and stayed by her side always and befriended anyone who came to the house. Tony liked to make Virginia laugh and always made jokes to keep her smiling. Virginia and Tony both liked comedy shows and funny movies. Their favorite comedian was Sebastian Maniscalco, a Sicilian comedian who they loved to see live and on video. Tony stayed by Virginia's side during each day the past 17 months, whether it be in the hospital, rehabilitation or recovering at home. Virginia had a strong demeanor and always told Tony that she wanted to come home soon during the long inpatient stays. Tony's aunt Ann became very close to them as she filled in daily as Tony went home to take care of the house for a couple hours. Virginia recovered several times during the 17 months and came home for a month or more, returning to driving and almost completely back to normal. Virginia and Ann went out to lunch several times while Virginia was back home. Virginia's mother called her daily and was always concerned as she could not visit often due to her own declining health conditions and long distance to the hospital. Tony and Tony's mom would fill in Virginia's mom daily as to the status. Virginia's mom visited the day before Virginia's passing, and was very nice to have the family together at that time. Virginia was anointed a couple days before she passed. Tony knows things will not be the same without Virginia, but the fact that they found each other and spent almost 17 years of sharing precious moments, he is grateful for the time he had with her and that he had her back several times over the past 17 months.
