Troy Brian Tava, 55, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and dear brother, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Troy leaves behind his loving wife, Jennifer Tava, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage filled with love and adventure. Together, they enjoyed traveling and experiencing new things, building a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Brayden (Mirela) and Jillian Tava, who will carry his spirit forward. Born on September 13, 1970, in Manistee, Troy was the treasured son of Roger and the late Shirley Tava. He was the loving son-in-law of James and Annette Mattison. Troy will be deeply missed by his siblings, Mark (Lisa) Tava, Gina (Pat) Walsh, and Lani (Kerry) Gibbs, as well as his brother-in-law, Eric (Melissa) Mattison. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. Troy was deeply dedicated to his work and took immense pride in everything he did. Throughout his career he earned a reputation of integrity and excellence. More than his professional accomplishments, Troy will be remembered as a mentor and leader who invested in others and always had a smile to share. Troy lived his life with energy, humor and a true sense of adventure. He embraced every opportunity to be outdoors, whether kayaking, camping, off-road jeeping, hiking or traveling to new places. He had a way of turning even the simplest moments into fun, often transforming any activity into a competition that brought laughter to those around him. Troy loved playing cards, especially euchre, finding joy in both the strategy and the shared fun of a good game with family. Above all Troy was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy cheering on his children at their events and milestones, always present, always proud and always their biggest supporter. He lived fully, loved deeply and leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter and unwavering devotion to his family.
