WOJCIECHOWSKI, Thomas. February 22, 2016. Age 71. Beloved husband of Kathy Wojciechowski. Cherished father of Steve and Sandy (Patrick) Koneval. Proud and adored papa of Brenden and Samantha, Kathys daughters Tricia (Steve) Rosenkranz and Tracy (Matt) White, and Kathy's grandsons Michael, Jason, Erik, Dylan and Connor. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Josephine & his brother, Edward Jr. Tom was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, to Edward and Josephine Wojciechowski. He grew up in Detroit with his brother Edward and then moved to Warren for their school years. Tom had a love of baseball and pitched a no hitter in his senior year. Tom joined the U.S. Navy with his friends in 1962 and was Honorably Discharged in 1966. His first marriage was in 1967 to Kathleen Beutel. Together they had 2 children, Steven, and Sandy (Patrick) Koneval. Tom worked at the GM Power Plant for 32 years. He was on the line and then was an office janitor, which he really enjoyed. Tom retired in 1999 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed boating and baseball with his family and friends. In 1998, Tom was a proud Papa to Brenden, and then to Samantha in 2002. He was a wonderful Papa, babysitter, and loved to play games with his grandchildren. That brought many years of joy and laughter to him. In 2002, he met and fell in love with Kathy. They were married in 2004. Tom had many good times playing baseball in Troy. He and Kathy also enjoyed many road trips, cruises, occasional casino trips, and biking with family and friends. His world became even better when he was introduced to golf. That is all he watched, practiced, and thought about. He played on two leagues, one at Sylvan Glen Golf Course in Troy, Michigan and the other was a travel league. The only time he would cancel golf would be for his grandchildren's games of baseball, basketball, soccer, track, acro dance, recitals or their birthdays. Family and friends were very important to Tom. He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, friend, and neighbor. He will be missed by many, especially his family. He fought the cancer battle bravely and fiercely. May you rest in peace Tom! Visitation Friday 2-9pm with a 7pm Scripture Service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr Rd at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate Saturday 9am until time of 9:30am Mass at St. Anastasia Catholic Church 4571 John R Rd. (Troy). Memorial contributions in Thomas's honor are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
