JENKINS, THOMAS EDWARD Age 83 July 6. 2025. In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Papa It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our cherished Papa, Thomas Jenkins. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his life was well-lived—a life filled with kindness, laughter, strength, and unwavering love. Papa was more than a grandfather; he was the heart of our family. A gentle soul with a strong spirit, he had the rare gift of making everyone feel seen, heard, and deeply loved. Born on June 7, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan where he met the love of his life Catherine in kindergarten. They celebrated their 62 year wedding anniversary in 2024. Papa lived a life of hard work and humility. He was a man of principle and quiet dignity, always leading by example. He taught us the value of honesty, hard work, and the importance of showing up—for family, for friends, and for life. He found joy in life’s simple moments: picking his grandchildren up from school, cheering for them at their games, early mornings hunting with TJ’s Hunting Crew, which he never missed an opening day in 72 years, raking leaves at Henry Street, and always having Sunday dinner with the family. The way he sang our names as we walked in the door would always put a smile on your face. His hugs could heal. And his words and actions taught us by example how to be the best we can be. Papa leaves behind a legacy of love that lives on in all of us: in the lessons he taught, the memories we hold dear, and the way we now strive to love each other just as he loved us. He will be missed dearly by his family and countless others who were blessed to know him. Though he may be gone from our sight, Papa will never be gone from our hearts. We will honor him by living our lives with the same kindness, strength, and grace he showed us every day. Rest peacefully, Papa. You are truly the greatest! Beloved husband of Catherine. Visitation Friday 3-9pm with 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Funeral Saturday Instate 10:00am at St. Faustina Church 14025 12 Mile Rd. (btw. Hayes and Schoenherr Rds.) until time of Mass at 10:30am. Donations are welcome to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
