Theresa Barbara Dargis

Theresa Barbara Dargis (née Tassone) passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. She spent her final days surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was 77 years old. Theresa was born on April 13, 1949, to Frank and Alfreda (Kszyk) Tassone. On August 31, 1968, she married Michael Thomas Dargis. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching TV. She also had a special talent for baking cakes, which she lovingly made for the many people she cared about. She especially loved baking birthday cakes for each of her grandchildren to celebrate every cherished year with them—a special tradition the family always looked forward to. Her chocolate frosting was a family favorite. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who lovingly knew her as “Nana.” For the past 34 years, she played an active and loving role in each of their lives, always offering support, encouragement, and unconditional love. She never missed an opportunity to share stories about them with anyone she met, and she beamed with pride whenever she did. Theresa had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She loved gathering with family, playing cards, sharing laughter, and creating memories together. She often had a pot of pastina soup on the stove and always had a warm welcome ready for visitors in her home. Her door was always open. Over the years, Theresa enjoyed selling Princess House Crystal and Tupperware. She not only loved sharing the products with family and friends, but also treasured the many wonderful friendships she formed along the way. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by her family and made certain each of them knew how deeply they were loved. She especially treasured the unforgettable time she spent taking her entire family on a cruise, a memory that remained close to her heart. In her later years, Theresa and Michael purchased Michael’s great-grandfather’s farm in Lexington. It was there that she spent many treasured weekends with family and friends. She enjoyed the peace and quiet, often sitting on the deck reading and watching the sunset. She also loved gathering around the fire, making hot dogs and s’mores, sharing stories, and laughing together. Her kindness, warmth, and loving spirit touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Michael Dargis. Proud mother of twin daughters, Donna Hosinski and Brenda (Bob) Navarro, and her youngest son, Michael (Toni) Dargis Jr. Cherished grandmother of Breonna Brodak, Miranda (Frank) Johnson, Alexis Colella, Kyle Dargis, Tyler Dargis, Devon Navarro, Tristan Navarro, and Marissa Dargis; and adored great-grandmother of Maddisyn Colella. Dear sister of Germaine Tassone, the late Larry Tassone, Michael Tassone, George (Veronica) Tassone, Immaculata Smith, Raymond Tassone, Maryanne Vancil, and Florence (Ken) Nagorsen. In remembrance of Theresa Dargis, separate visitation services will be observed by the family. Friends and family of Donna Hosinski and Brenda Navarro are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, May 14, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friends and family of Michael Dargis Jr. are invited to attend visitation on Friday, May 15, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a celebration of life at 7:00 p.m. The family appreciates everyone’s love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
