Steve John Shafer Jr. 11/4/1968 – 2/6/2022 SHAFER, Steve John. February 6, 2022. Age 53. Beloved son of Frances Elizabeth (Tocco) Shafer and the late Steve John Shafer Sr. Loving brother of Jennifer (Michael) Yacoub, Michael Shafer, Andrew (Michelle) Shafer. Proud uncle of Hannah Yacoub (fiancé Christopher Huber), Hailey Yacoub, Auston Shafer, Carlee Shafer, Camryn Shafer, Aiden Shafer, Cecilia Shafer, Devon Ellul, Cheyenne Shafer, Wyatt Shafer, and great uncle of Everleigh Stewart. Family was very important to Steve. He lived with and took care of his late father until the day his father died, and he was a big help to his mother prior to him getting sick. He adored his nieces and nephews and attended practically every one of their events he was invited to. Steve was a gentle soul and loved the animals of his brothers and sister. Yogi Carlos, his brother’s dog, lived with him and sure does miss him! He was a man of little words and he never gossiped nor spoke a bad word about anyone, and his laugh was certainly contagious. Steve was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved the Lord more than anything in this world. In church, one could hear his voice in prayer above all others. At the time of his death, he had no fear. He knew where faithful followers of the Lord depart to, and he was ready to enter into eternity. Steve has joyfully joined the company of his father, grandparents (meeting his maternal grandparents for the first time), great grandparents, three cousins, great nephew Archie, and many Tocco family aunts and uncles. He will be missed here on Earth, but will forever be in our hearts until we meet again. Visitation Friday February 25th, 2022, from 3-9pm with an evening prayer service and sharing of memories at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., (Shelby) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. Instate Saturday, February 26th, 2022, from 10am until time of 11am Mass at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd, Bloomfield Hills, 48304.
