VENTIMIGLIA, SANDRA LEE age 86 Septemeber 7, 2026 Beloved wife of the late Thomas Anthony. Loving mother of Lee Ann (Michael) Sherman, Lucille (Ronald) Jiovani and Lynn (John Prantera) Chrisman. Proud grandmother of Danielle, Frank, Tom, Gina, Cameron, Cole and Cooper. Loving great grandmother of Rhett, Mia, Braylon, Miles, Wesley, Carter and Palmer. Cherished great-great-grandmother of Scarlet. Dear sister of the late Barbara Niles. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mom attended East Detroit High School, where she was a cheerleader, graduating in 1957. Not long after graduation, on April 11, 1958 she married the love of her life, our dad Tom beginning a life together filled with family, friendship, travel, and many wonderful memories. She began working at Centennial Bowling Alley before choosing to stay home with us, her three daughters Lee, Lu & Lynn. As we grew, she returned to the workforce and became a manager at One Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaning. Our friends were so jealous of us because we had the BEST CREASED JEANS around!! She later went on to work at Morley Candy Company as a candy maker, a job that was especially fitting for someone who brought so much sweetness to the lives of those around her. Throughout her life, she had many interests, but she especially loved creating things for the people she cared about. She spent countless hours crocheting beautiful blankets, often giving them as wedding gifts to friends and family. Each was truly a labor of love, and today those blankets are treasured keepsakes that will continue to wrap the people she loved in a little piece of her. Senior softball was a large and memorable part of Mom and Dad’s life together. For many years, she loved watching and supporting Dad as he played, and their travels took them all the way to Utah for the Senior Olympics. Those years brought them wonderful friendships, adventures, and memories together. She also had a passion for gardening and landscaping and took great pride in having a beautiful yard. In fact, when the lawn service finished its work, Mom was known to head right back outside and “perfect” the job herself. She knew exactly how she wanted things, and she wasn’t afraid to make sure they were done just right. She believed in staying active and enjoyed exercising three days a week at the Washington Township Senior Center, where she also enjoyed the friendship and companionship of others. She loved playing cards, with Hand and Foot being her favorite. She filled her life with family, friendships, activities, and the things she loved. But perhaps the most lasting pieces of her life are found in the memories she created and the love she gave so freely. From the blankets she made by hand to the beautiful gardens she tended, she had a way of leaving things a little more beautiful than she found them. And that is how she will be remembered.
