Rocco D'Aristotile

Rocco Daristotile, also known as “Rocco D” was the oldest of five siblings, born and raised on a small family farm in Italy. He immigrated to America in 1963 with just a few belongings and a huge heart of anticipation to discover the American dream. He had no idea what to expect, but with his strong work ethic and determination, he set out to build a future for himself. His will to bring his entire family to the US proved to be effective when he brought them all back together in 1967 and they began to build a secure foundation from the ground up. Rocco and his brothers became franchise owners of a Dino’s Pizzeria and after five years collectively decided to sell it. At this time, Rocco decided to make time to head back to salvage his roots and remodel his home back in the old country. Family was always a priority and when he was ready to get married, he hand-picked his beautiful bride, Maria in none other than his hometown of Vacri. From there, they returned back together to Hazel Park, Michigan and Rocco was introduced to the construction trade. His three children were born soon after and he continued to work with excellence to provide a good life for his family. Later on, his children would marry and reap blessings, 10 beautiful granddaughters who were his pride and joy. He adored his extended family and was so thankful, welcoming each addition through the years. Some of his hobbies were karaoke singing, dancing and playing the accordion. Not to mention, he always had the most bountiful garden in the neighborhood. He also relished his time with good company, eating delicious meals with a glass of vino. He was always a true model to others in every sense. Rocco treated everyone like his best friend and knew how to love unconditionally. He was simple but valued the most important things in life. Faith and family. For this, he will always be admired as a true patriarch. In his last days he experienced several health trials. In the face of many adversities, he persevered with courage. Most recently, he fought the battle of his life with brain cancer. He fought the good fight all the way to the end with endurance. Although he is gone from this earth too soon, his faith was secure and we have the joyful expectation of a glorious reunion in Heaven one day. He has built a legacy beyond measure and will never be forgotten. He left an imprint in our hearts and minds for all time. Visitation Thursday 3-9pm with 5:30pm Rosary and 7:00pm Sharing of Memories at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. (SHELBY TOWNSHIP). Funeral Friday Instate 9:30am at St. Isidore Church 18201 23 Mile Rd. at Romeo Plank until time of Mass at 10:00am. Donations are welcome to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
