Nua Malota Lulgjuraj

Nua Malota Chungu Lulgjuraj was born October 3rd, 1953. He was raised in Lofka until 14 years old, when he moved to Split, Croatia with childhood friend Gjon Zef Minit Lulgjuraj to become priests. He spent nearly 5 years there. Nua then emigrated to Italy on August 30, 1972 with his mother Pashka and brothers Vasel and Pjeter. On July 12 1973, they arrived in Detroit in the United States. From 1973 to 1979, Nua was a member of Besa, our Albanian Soccer team here in Michigan. He married in 1973 and had two daughters, Katrina and Tereza and his son Martin. In August 1980, he remarried Maria Berishaj and they remained married until his passing. The house of Malot Cungu comes with a long line of patriotism and Albanian pride with legendary roots. Malota’s axha Ujk Luca gave his life in the uprising for Malesia in the battle of Deciq in 1911. Nua was the grandson of Ujk Gali Dedivanaj, the great grandson of Gala Smajli Lekocaj and Nua’s mother’s grandmother was the daughter of Hero I Popullit, Ded Gjon Luli. Beloved husband of Maria. Loving father of Martin Nua Malota Lulgjuraj, Katrina Nua Malota Lulgjuraj & the late Tereza Nua Malota Lulgjuraj. Proud grandfather of Oliva & Isabella. Dearest brother of Vasel (Lula) Malota Lulgjuraj & Pjeter (Lisa) Malota Lulgjuraj. Loving uncle of many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews. He will be dearly missed.
