Mary Ann Di Santo

February 17, 1959 - April 15, 2022

DI SANTO, Mary, A., (nee Zasucha) April 15, 2022 Age 63. Beloved wife of Andy for 32 years. Loving mother of Andrew Jr., and Sarah (Justin) Green. Dear sister of Thomas (the late Darcey) Zasucha and the late Therese (the late Joseph) Richard. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Also predeceased by her adored parents Raymond and Catherine Zasucha. Mary was truly one of a kind. She welcomed everyone with open arms and was an ear to talk to. You could always count on her for help, advice, or a good gossip session. Mary’s strength showed, as she battled breast cancer over the past 12 years. Through it all, her husband, Andy, supported her every step of the way for the past 32 years. Her proudest moments in life were her two children, Andrew and Sarah. She adored them and celebrated every big and small accomplishment they made. She was their biggest cheerleader and loved watching them succeed. She couldn’t help but to tell anyone who would listen, how proud she was to be their mother. Mary’s hobbies included reading, going on walks, hiking, crafting, crocheting, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mary had an impeccable green thumb and it showed when everyone asked for advice on all things gardening. Mary spent much of her time at Gilda’s club. Gilda’s club provided years of support through classes, groups, and activities for people going through cancer journeys. Mary participated in Bra’s for a Cause, a charity event to raise money for Breast Cancer. She showed her crafty side through making several decorated and themed bras and even got on stage to model them! If you ever had the opportunity of meeting or talking with Mary, you know that she had a beautiful soul. One that will continue to shine bright every day. She loved hard, fought hard, and most importantly never took a day for granted. Visitation Thursday April 21st, 3-9pm with a 7pm Rosary service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr @ Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Friday April 22nd, instate 11:30am at St. Isidore Catholic Church 18201 23 Mile Rd @ Romeo Plank until time of Mass 12 noon. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mary's honor would be appreciated to Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit. Share memories with the family at their "On-Line Guest Book" @ WujekCalcaterra.com.
