SANTIA, Luigino. Saturday, May 30, 2026. Age 99. Beloved husband of the late Vittoria Santia for 64 years. Dearest father of Carlo (Mary) and Domenica (Frank) Bonanni. Cherished grandfather of Vittorio (Stephanie), Angela (Vincenzo), Rose, Luigino, Dominic, Christina (Iacopo), and Laura (Dominic). Proud great-grandfather of 14. Loving brother of Angela. Luigino is preceded in death by his parents, Marco and Domenica Santia, and his 5 dear siblings. Born and raised in Supino, Italy, Luigino grew up with his loving parents and six siblings, where he learned the values of family, hard work, and faith that guided him throughout his life. It was there that he met the love of his life, Vittoria, and together they began building a life together. Determined to create greater opportunities for those he loved, Luigino immigrated to the United States and worked tirelessly to establish a home before bringing his wife and children to join him. He took great pride in raising his family and providing them with a life built on love and strong family values. Though he made America his home, Luigino never lost touch with his Italian roots. He remained deeply connected to Supino through yearly visits, treasured memories, and the traditions he proudly passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Luigino was an avid gardener and enjoyed making wine. He found joy in sharing his fruits, vegetables, and wine with those around him. He found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people he loved, especially his great-grandchildren. He treasured the time spent making homemade tosa for them, teaching them to play Scopa, and creating memories that they will carry with them for a lifetime. Luigino’s greatest legacy is the family he loved so deeply. The journey he began from a small town in Italy created a family that now spans four generations. His strength, generosity, and devotion will continue to live on through all those who were blessed to know and love him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts. Visitation Thursday, June 4th, 2026 3pm-9pm with a Rosary at 6pm Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.
