JABLONSKI, Lynda. May 6, 2021. Age 73. Beloved wife of Dennis. Dearest mother of Douglas (Christine), Keith (Tina), and Michael (Jen Bostwick). Loving grandmother of Luke, Jake, Ella, Wyatt, and Kayla. Cherished sister of Violette. God has called a new angel home… Lynda Jean Jablonski passed peacefully on May 6, 2021. She spent her last several days surrounded by family and friends at home Lynda was born in Detroit in 1948 to Charles and Irene Swick. She grew up with her older sister Violette and her Uncle Frank. As a child, Lynda spent countless holidays and other events with her many cousins, aunts, and uncles in the Bielak family. Many of those cousins were like siblings to her. In the 1960’s, Lynda met Dennis Jablonski while they were both attending St. Hyacinth School in Detroit. She attended Girls’ Catholic Central High School, making several life-long friends who remain like family to this day. She married Dennis in 1968 at age 20, and they started their life together. Lynda was a loving and caring mom of 3 sons. She raised us to be courteous, respectful, gentlemen. She valued education and instilled in us her sensible moral code of right and wrong. While raising three sons, she also worked as a legal secretary, making sacrifices to make sure Catholic School and college tuitions were possible. Later in life, Lynda fulfilled a lifelong dream of obtaining her own college degree, going to school at night while working and taking care of her family. Lynda could and would make friends with anyone. Over the years she developed friendships with people from the St. Anne and DeLaSalle school communities. She made friends while working as a legal secretary. She made new friends in her 60’s when she decided to pursue acting and performed in several plays. She made a lasting impression on people associated with the Susan Komen Race for the Cure foundation. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Lynda tirelessly raised money for breast cancer research, planning and hosting golf outings in addition to events like a “60’s dance”. Lynda was deeply religious, rarely missing Sunday mass. But she always prayed for others and rarely thought of herself or her own ailments. She was also one of the most thoughtful people, sending cards to friends and family at a pace that few could keep up with. As a mom, she always made time to pray, attend events, type papers, fold laundry, make meals, clean, or shuttle her boys to games and practices. She welcomed countless friends of her sons into the family home, always offering to feed them and chat their ears off, too. Many of these friends still consider Lynda to be a “second mom”. She never stopped being a mom, continuing to pray for, worry about and check in on her boys and their families until her last days. As a grandma, Lynda never hesitated to baby-sit, come to a game, or remind her grandkids that angels were near. As a sister, she took over for her parents and lovingly watched over Violette to make sure she received proper care. As a wife, she gently prodded Dennis when needed, and walked on the journey of marriage with him for 52 years. Always a lover of socializing and getting the “scoop”, Lynda and Dennis hosted family and friends for hundreds of birthdays and holidays. Her home was always open to friends and relatives. While she has left this earth sooner than she should, Lynda lived a full and rich life, and left a profound legacy of love that will never be forgotten. She will be missed, but we know that a new angel is now in heaven watching over us.
