WILSON, Karen Ann (nee Slater). June 24, 2026. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Ann Wilson, who peacefully passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 72. Karen was born on April 24, 1954, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She graduated from Brablec High School in Roseville, Michigan, in 1972 and married the love of her life, Warren Wilson. Together they built a beautiful life, sharing 54 wonderful years of marriage and raising four children. Karen attended cosmetology school and later managed several Lawson stores throughout the years. She also became a pillar in the youth wrestling community, dedicating countless hours to the sport she loved. As a respected National Pairing Master, Karen traveled the country helping organize and run wrestling tournaments, touching the lives of countless athletes and families. Karen found joy in the simple things in life. She and Warren spent many evenings playing cards together. She loved gardening, crafting, caring for her beloved pets, and cheering on Detroit sports teams—always ending with a proud “Go MSU!” Above all else, Karen’s greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother—not only to her own children, but to many who needed one—and a proud and loving Nana. Whether it was wrestling meets, dance recitals, cheer competitions, color guard performances, or baseball, softball, and soccer games, Karen was always on the sidelines, enthusiastically supporting her family (and occasionally letting the referees and umpires know exactly how she felt). Sunday family dinners were a treasured tradition, made even more memorable by Karen’s famous desserts and beloved macaroni salad. Her home was always open, and everyone who entered knew they were welcomed with love. Karen loved fiercely and unconditionally. She was selfless, honest, humble, and incredibly strong. To so many, she was a real-life superhero. While words cannot express the depth of her loss, her love, laughter, and the countless memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her. Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Warren Wilson; her loving children, Michelle (Bob Blandino) Wilson, Joseph (Stacy) Wilson, Robert Jr. “Bobby” (Erica) Wilson, and Michael “Mikey” Wilson; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Chris), Alexis (Joey), Emma (Ben), Logan, Isabel, Connor, Austin, and Nora; and her adored great-grandchildren, CJ, Luke, and a precious baby girl expected soon. Karen is the dear sister of Dane (Judy) Slater, and the late Raymond Slater. Karen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her. Karen’s legacy is one of unwavering love, generosity, strength, and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed every day, her spirit will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
