KOMENDAT, Joseph G. January 10, 2022. Age 94. Beloved husband of Mary for 63 incredible years. Loving father of Karen (Stan) Pruett, Linda (Paul) Meldrum, Lori (Robert) Schindler and Paul (Julie Labno). Proud and adored grandfather of Michael, David, Megan, Kaitlyn, Jacqueline, and Mary. He was predeceased by his siblings, Florence, Mary, and Catherine. Joseph met the love of his life at a dance in 1957. He was married to Mary for 63 years. Joseph and Mary were in a bowling league for many years. They spent many Sundays bowling with their children after church. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and spend time at his cottage. He loved to run, exercise, garden, and swim. Traveling with his wife and kids was a joy for him. He loved to explore caves, lighthouses, and the beach. Joseph especially liked his trips to Europe and the Alaskan cruise. He traveled to Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, and Texas with family. Joseph, a WWII veteran, served in the army while stationed in Japan. He spent over 20 years at General Motors as a draftsman and enjoyed showing his drawings to his children and grandchildren. Visitation Sunday from 3-8 pm at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr Rd. at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Funeral Mass Monday 10 am at St. Louise de Marillac Parish, 2500 East 12 Mile Rd. Warren, 48092. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery.
