GLOWA, John, G., April 27, 2026, Age 77. Dearest brother of the late Sophie Rudnicki. John is survived by his brother-in-law Chester Rudnicki, his loving niece Renee (Todd) Triemstra, and nephews Mark (Rebecca) Rudnicki, and Michael (Eriko) Rudnicki. John was a proud great uncle to Lauryn, Katelyn, Annika, Helena, and Kaley. Visitation Sunday, May 3rd from 5-8pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Monday, May 4th, instate 9:30am at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26401 St. Josaphat Dr., in Warren until Mass at 10:30am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. John Glowa leaves behind a legacy of quiet excellence, deep devotion to family, and a life marked by intellect, humor, and generosity. John built a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer, dedicating more than 40 years to Ford Motor Company. He served as a Technical Specialist, a role recognizing his deep expertise in engine design, and contributed to the design and development of powertrain systems, with particular involvement in valvetrain engineering. His work was essential to the durability and reliability of Ford engines, and his contributions helped shape the performance of countless vehicles on the road today. After retiring from Ford, he served as a consultant with General Motors before returning to Ford for a second chapter of service, ultimately concluding a remarkable professional journey defined by skill, dedication, and the respect of his colleagues. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University, serving as the foundation for his distinguished career. While John’s professional accomplishments were significant, his life was defined above all by his relationships. He was a faithful and devoted son, honoring and caring for his parents with unwavering love. He was also a deeply devoted brother to his only sister, Sophie, who preceded him in death. To his niece and nephews, he was “Johnny” – a central and cherished presence in their lives. He was a titan of love, support and kindness, making countless things possible for them and extending that same love and generosity to the next generation, his great-nieces. John was a steadfast and loyal friend, maintaining deep relationships over many decades. He was a devout and devoted parishioner to his church. He spoke four languages, enjoyed travel across the world for his work, loved Westerns, and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions and U of M football. He had a quick wit, sharp mind, and effortless sense of humor. He rarely, if ever, had an unkind word to say about anyone, a reflection of his character and the example he set for others.
