VEIGEL, Janet Louise. Age 81. May 30, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Erwin. Loving mother of Michael Veigel and Christina (Jeffrey) Marchione. Cherished grandmother of Andrew (Bailey) Marchione, Elise Marchione, Erin (Glen) Doody and Austin (Chelsea) Marchione. Adored great-grandmother of Jack, James, Miles, Amelia, and Nora. Dear sister of Shirley Bohn. Also survived by her nephews and their families; Wolfgang (Julie) Rechenbach, Paul (Bonnie) Haus and Gary (Heather) Haus. Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Olga Bohn, and her twin sister Joann (Ernie) Haus. Janet passed away surrounded by her loving family, a day after what would have been her 55th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband Erwin. Janet and Erwin met at a German Club in Detroit, first connecting over their shared heritage. They raised their family and enjoyed grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet and Erwin traveled to all 50 states and traveled through most of Europe. First and foremost, family and friends were very important to Janet. She was a a friend to all. Janet grew up on Woodlawn St. in Detroit. She graduated from Wilbur Wright High School. Janet worked for K-Mart Corporation (then S. S. Kresge Corporation), straight from her High School Co-Op program. Her fun personality and hard work ethic earned her a 36 year long career until she retired. Janet maintained strong bonds with her early childhood friends. She enjoyed her monthly Pinochle games and visits to the casino with her girlfriends. In her free time, Janet was an avid reader. She read thousands of romance books. Janet loved any type of animal but especially loved dogs. Janet will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. There will be a memorial service for Janet on Friday, June 26, 2026. Memorial Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 pm (noon) until the time of the Memorial Service starting at 12:30pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Ave in Utica.
