Irene Constance McMahon

McMAHON, IRENE CONSTANCE (nee Mondro) age 90 February 13, 2023 Irene was born in Detroit in 1932, second of eight children. Grew up in a Polish neighborhood on Chopin Street and attended St. Andrews school. After graduating from high school she worked at Cadillac Motors. She traveled the country before meeting her husband Donald McMahon. They raised their young family in Warren and then Oakland Township and eventually settled in St. Clair Shores. Irene loved to sing and dance and spend time at their ranch in northern Michigan. She was a wonderful loving mother and homemaker. For her entire life, she was devoted to Christ and the Blessed Mother and gave her family the gift of faith. She was an unwavering faithful servant of the Lord who loved to bless everyone she came in contact with. She was a choir member of her church for over 35 years. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dear friends. She was always kind and cheerful and greeted everyone no matter where she went. Irene lived a wonderful life and will be sorely missed by all who love her. Beloved wife of the late Donald. Loving mother of Cynthia McMahon, Steven (Vicki) McMahon, Diane (Robert) Martin, James (Sandra) McMahon, Jacquelyn Fisher and Donna (Timothy) Lawlis. Loving grandmother of Melissa (Scott) Misch, the late Anthony (Kate) Martin, William (Randi) McMahon, James (Brie-Anna) Martin, Keri (Jaden) Caskie, Kyle (Michelle) McMahon, Robert (Erin) Fisher, Logan (Mackenzie) McMahon, Ashley Fisher, Kady McMahon, Sarah Lawlis and Jenna Lawlis. Proud great grandmother of Caleb, Declan, Emerson, Hayley, Claire, Jaelynn, Kyla, Taylor, Maclin, Paxton, Evan, Olive, Jameson, Finnegan and Liv. Dear sister of the late Joan (the late Frederick) Borowski, the late Mary Ellen Bork, Adrian (the late Chris) Andrews-Michalak, Robert (Carol) Mondro, the late John (Phyllis) Mondro, the late Thomas Mondro and the late James (Rosemary) Mondro. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; John and Stephania Mondro and her siblings-in-laws; Melbourne Bork, Simon and Catherine McMahon, Rita (Leonard) Carol, Elizabeth (Carl) Debol, Helen (Richard) Cendrowski, June (Adolph) Mlynarek, Doreen (Lowell) Knapp, Gloria (Donald) Breeze, Rose Bork and Edward (Patricia) McMahon.
