Helen Gabriela Jablonski

Helen Gabriela Jablonski (Daugul), 97, born March 9, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, died peacefully after a short time in hospice on March 26, 2021, at American House, Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna Daugul (Matulewicz), brothers George and Frank Daugul, her beloved husband of 47 years, Edward H. Jablonski, of Center Line, Michigan and her loving daughter Susan (Paul) Bairley, of Chelsea, Michigan. Helen “Angel Eyes” was a loving wife to Edward and beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her five children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her family was blessed by her constant loving care and guidance, and delighted in her great cooking, especially her Polish specialties. She was also a great dancer, and the family treasures memories of her dances with their father; sometimes spontaneously in the kitchen at their family home in Center Line. In addition to raising her children, Helen worked part-time in patient admissions for 11 years at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital (formerly South Macomb Hospital) in Warren, Michigan, where she was lauded for always making patients feel comfortable and welcome. Helen was also a long time devoted parishioner of Our Lady, Queen of Families (formerly St. Clement) Roman Catholic Church in Center Line. Survivors include her son, Edward H. Jablonski, Jr. Chesterfield, Michigan, daughter Kathleen James, Sedona, Arizona, daughter Nancy Nuell, Shipman, Virginia, and son James (Janilee) Jablonski, Irvine, California. Helen is also survived by her grandchildren United States Army Lt Col Alan (Robin) Bairley, Jeffrey (Elyse) Bairley, Rachel (Travis) Strahorn, Margaret (“Meg”) Nuell, Bonnie (Jason) Cavender, Brina Jablonski, Catherine (“Rini”) Jablonski, and Benjamin (“Ben”) Jablonski, and their children, her brother Edward Daugul, East Detroit, and her nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday March 30th from 9am until time of the 11am funeral service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd).
