Harding 'Hardy' Mckinley Brewer, III

November 10, 1955 - December 8, 2021

BREWER, Harding Mckinley “Hardy.” December 8, 2021. Age 66. Loving brother of Debra and Marvin. Cherished uncle of Anjelica and great uncle of Ruby and Ty. Dearest cousin of Gloria and Denise and nephew of Ardella. Predeceased by his parents Harding and Jean. Survived by many loving friends and colleges. Hardy was born in Jackson, Michigan where he was raised and graduated from Parkside High School in 1973 where he played football, baseball and basketball. He attended Western Michigan University and was the first member of his family to attend and graduate college, a great pride for his parents and family. Hardy started his career at General Motors in 1992 where he held positions within IT Launch project management. He was an important part of the Disaster Recovery Team after the Oklahoma City tornado disaster in addition to on-site Launch IT manager at GM’s Detroit Hamtramck facility as well as other numerus contributions. In 2009, Hardy transitioned into the Senior Management role leading the Vehicle Launch organization and has played a key role which has had a significant impact on GM’s successes. Every vehicle on the road today has his forethought, planning and knowledge to thank. Hardy’s interests included all things sports, a great love of travel which his position at GM helped in this passion. His favorite places included Hawaii, San Francisco, and Mexico just to name a few which also sparked an interest in photography. Generous, loving and kind, he will be greatly missed by all that have had the pleasure to know him, a true and rare gentleman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Memorial Visitation Tuesday 2-8 and Memorial Service Wednesday at 10 am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons in Shelby Twp. 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd.
