Gaspare DiCarlo

September 11, 1931 - May 18, 2022

Gaspare DiCarlo, 90, of Warren, Michigan passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2022, with his beloved wife of 65 years, Anna Rosa Paglia DiCarlo, at his side. Gaspare was born in Lanciano, Italy to Raffaele DiCarlo and Francesca Ciampini DiCarlo on September 11, 1931. He was one of eight children. In 1948, Gaspare moved to Rome, Italy to become an accomplished tailor. He married Anna Rose in 1957 before moving the family to Michigan in 1967, where he worked at Ford Motor Company Utica Trim Plant for 31 years. Gaspare was a man of many talents. There was little that he could not create or fix, be it Patrizia’s wedding gown or the patio addition to the Warren house. He was also a man of many names, “Gasparino” to his Anna, “Pop” to his children, “Nonno” to his grandchildren, and “GD or Ga” to his many friends. He and Anna enjoyed traveling the world and he was the consummate host and gentleman, counted on always raising a glass, making an offer of food, or lending a hand with any number of projects. Gaspare is survived by his wife Anna Rosa, and his four children and six grandchildren: Luciano (Kathy, deceased) DiCarlo and his children Julian and Isabella, Franco (Rachel) DiCarlo and his children Juliet and Adrian, Marco DiCarlo, and Patrizia Sokolowski and her children Emily and Evan. Please join us in celebrating his life. A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons Sterling Heights location from 2 pm – 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 23, 2022, at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in Warren, Michigan, followed by commitment at Guardian Angel Cemetery and a private luncheon.
