Francis Charles Cossu

Francis Charles Cossu was born into eternal life on June 20, 2026. Husband of Virgina Cossu. Father of David (Karen) Cossu, Jeffrey (Jill) Cossu, Charisse (Stan) Cossu-Kowalski, Susan (Joe) Ryan. Papa to Jenna (David), Jessica (Rob), Drew (Shelby), Danielle, Jacob, Joshua, Tyler, Allison (Lauren), Joseph (Rebekah), Jennifer (Garrett), Julia. (Big) Papa to Eliana, Sadie, Easton, Francis, Henry, Cameron, Lucia. Known as Papa to many many friends of the family. Frank married the love of his life in 1954. He served our country as a soldier in the US Army, and was stationed in Korea. Frank was an honest and hard worker for Chrysler. After he retired he took on the role of Papa very proudly and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He taught them to "not feed the floor", how to make pasta, let his granddaughter paint his nails, and built the biggest fires for their fireplace during the winter. He loved tending to his garden, especially his grapes. He loved teaching his grandkids how to build, use power tools, and how to play the slot machine in their basement. Frank never stopped moving. Something always needed to be fixed. Something always needed to be painted. Frank never got older than 29. Everyone was named "Charlie". We were always going to "Philadelphia". He "Franked" his shoes. Frank was loved and cared for by so many. He held on for 10 extra years to watch his grandchildren start families of their own. He loved each of his great grandchildren and even got to spend time playing with them on the floor. We all love you so much, Papa. You lived a wonderful life. You built a wonderful family that will never go a day without a piece of wisdom and knowledge from you. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/) or Capuchin Soup Kitchen (https://www.cskdetroit.org/donate/). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 4-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile), Sterling Heights. Funeral Wednesday, July 1, 2026 Instate 10:30am at St. John Vianney Church 54045 Schoenherr Rd. (btw. 24 & 25 Mile Rds.) until time of Mass at 11:00am.
