David Matthew Hoin

HOIN, DAVID Age 59, passed away on April 24, 2026, one day after celebrating his 59th birthday. Son of the late Casmere and Josephine (Tassoni) Hoin. Beloved brother of Michael (Suann) and Michelle (Pat). Proud uncle of Rachel (Chris) Goyette, Nicole (Matthew) Janes, and Danielle Hoin. Loving great-uncle of Skylar, Emery, Michael, Liam, Mia, Clare, Jack, and baby Janes on the way. David will also be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. David was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was a proud member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He later obtained a master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. He was the proud owner of Ranida Property Management in New Baltimore, Michigan. David lived a life devoted to service. A longtime member of St. Hubert’s Knights of Columbus Council 11658 in Harrison Township, he served in many capacities, including as Grand Knight. Through his service, he volunteered and contributed to many charities in Macomb County and throughout Michigan. He also gave his time as Assistant Coach for the L’Anse Creuse High School girls golf team, sharing his love of the game with others. Beyond his service, David was an avid poker player, golfer, and sailor, with a lifelong love of adventure on land and water. Following in the steps of his grandfather, Corrado Tassoni, he introduced his friends to the art of winemaking, sharing many bottles with loved ones. His kindness extended to animals as well—he rescued and cared for Chip, Mookie, Gipper, and Ripley. In his final act of generosity, David chose to be an organ donor, a gift that benefitted 75 people through his selfless act. A Memorial Gathering will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, May 9th at St Hubert’s Catholic Church, 38775 Prentis’s St. (off Metro Parkway - btw Jefferson & Crocker) Harrison Township, MI until time 11:00am Memorial Mass. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 10:15 in the Church.
