Daniel Louis Rousseau, M.D.

ROUSSEAU M.D., DANIEL L. Age 85 died peacefully at home December 15 surrounded by his loving wife, Josephine (nee PEDRO) and his 7 children. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Anna (nee GROSS) and Irwin Rousseau. His love of learning and his determined spirit were foundations for Dan's rewarding life. Dan was grateful for a blessed life with a strong supportive family, wonderful friends and fulfillment of his lifelong dreams. Dan and Jo were married in 1947 and settled in Mt. Clemen, Michigan. Together with Victor Curatolo M.D. he built several radiology practices in the Mt. Clemens and Grosse Pointe areas. He was a man of great convictions, determination, and was gifted with a sharp sense of humor, and his generous spirit helped many in need. Dan attended Marquette University (Medical School of Wisconsin) St. Thomas Military Academy (St. Paul, Minnesota). He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, 1945-1947 and the USAF 1951-1953; Chief of Radiology, Sampson AFB Hospital. Dan was a member of the Michgian State Medical Society, American Medical Society, Michigan Society of Therapeutic Radiologists, American Board of Radiology, Macomb County Medical Society, Habitat for Humanity-Naples FL., Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Flying Physicians Association, Catholic Physicians Guild of Detroit, and Michigan Cancer Foundation. Dan had an adventurous life that included flying, swimming, sailing, golfing and extensive traveling. Dan was a lifetime member of Gowanie Golf Club, the Old Crowd, and a longtime member of St. Peter and San Marco (Marco Island FL) Catholic Churches. Beloved husband of Josephine of 63 years. Loving father of Daniel Louis, Jr., Mary Jo(Ed)Siegrist, Jeanne(Steven)Marino, Patricia(John)Holland, Annette(Ronald)Rousseau-Henley, Denise(Mike Danosky)Rousseau & Frances(Kevin)Kieliszewski. Proud grandfather of Brandona & David Siegrist, John Mark, Danielle & Christopher Holland, and Michael, Daniel, Cecillia & Steven Kieliszewski. Predeceased by his siblings Irvin, Margaret Hegsted & Richard. Dear brother in law of James(Connie)Pedro-Pitera. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we say good-bye to our father. It is comforting to know that he left this world a better place for having been a part of it. The family wishes to thank Daniel's caregivers, doctors, nurses and St. John Hospice for their loving care. Funeral Saturday Instate 10:30am at St. Peter Church 95 Market at New St. until time of Mass at 11:00am.
