Daniel Neal Foreman

FOREMAN, DANIEL N. Age 82 August 11, 2023. With a heavy heart and a glass raised high, we bid farewell to a true character who lived life by his own rules. Daniel, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army in Vietnam, left this world with a smirk and a story for every occasion. He was a man who could expertly navigate scotch and bourbon, a golf course, and most debates (except, of course, with his beloved wife, Cynthia). Born in Windsor, Canada, he carried his Canadian spirit and American heart throughout his life. From a young age, he was no stranger to defying odds—cheating death in the icy grasp of the Detroit River at the tender age of four, foreshadowing the resilience that would define his journey. He found his stride in the working world, dedicating his years to GM and EDS. A data processing guru, he climbed the ladder and retired as a manager. But that's only a fraction of his story. Daniel was a man of passions—four-wheeled speed machines (and, oh, the stories those Corvettes could tell), harmonizing with the church choir at St. Kieran's, and mastering the art of hitting tiny balls into distant holes. Let's not forget his hole-in-one triumph at Crystal Mountain on June 19, 1987, an achievement that echoed through the ages—163 yards of pure victory on the 5th hole. He sang loud, laughed heartily, and navigated life with an opinion for every occasion, often with a mischievous glint in his eye. Family meant the world to him—survived by his loving wife, Cynthia, married on November 4, 1983, and his children Debb (Patrick), Denean (Doug), Kelly (Dave), Tammy (Nick) and Ryan (Janeen). His grandchildren Katelyn, Brandon, Isabella, Marissa, Priscilla, Hannah, Rocco, Chase, Lucia, Angelina, Nevaeh and Peyton brought him immeasurable joy, and his great-grandchildren Autumn, Christopher, Wyatt, and Silas were a testament to the legacy he leaves behind. He is welcomed to paradise by his predeceased mother, (Margaret), father (Murray), brothers (Jack and Ben-Eric), and many other loved ones. Other family members who accompanied his life journey include Jamie Taylor and pre deceased Dorothy Foreman and Justin Farmer. Daniel embraced his faith fervently. To be united in matrimony with his beloved Cynthia, he converted to Catholicism and received the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation in spring of 1983. As a tribute to their love story, he serenaded her down the aisle with the song "Looking Through the Eyes of Love." He was a proud member of the Corvette club, a distinguished Mason Past Master of a legacy built on camaraderie and brotherhood. Cruises were his way of exploring the world, and the world was surely better for having him explore it. With a glass raised high, let's remember Dan for his wit, wisdom, and the mark he left on all of us. “Sláinte” and “Salud” to you, Dan, a life well-lived and stories well-told.
