Charlyn Ann Carrick

Charlyn (“Charyl”) Ann Carrick, February 24, 1956 – June 14, 2023 (67 years), passed away after fighting as hard as anyone could possibly fight to beat cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer was too extensive, and no one could have done any better than she did. She surprised the doctors every step of the way with her strength. She was as good a person as anyone and everyone who she met thought the same. She was caring, generous, loving, strong and not afraid to stand up to anyone when they needed to be put in their place. She was the best mom, loving sister, a great friend and always put others before herself. She loved animals of all types (mostly, except birds and snakes) and after her retirement from working as a manager at insurance companies, loved her retirement job working at a veterinary hospital where she got to help all types of animals. Her co-workers and team members always loved working with her as she was the hardest working person and a fair boss. She loved spending time with her family and especially her son Matthew. She was as good a mom as any other mother on this planet. She and her son were fortunate enough to enjoy some very special trips together in recent years to Texas, Nashville, Hoover Dam, California, Las Vegas, and St. Louis, and a cross country trip starting in Nebraska, through Wyoming where they visited Cheyenne, and through Utah to visit Salt Lake, and down to Monument Valley in Arizona. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and will never be forgotten. She was predeceased by her parents Warner Carrick and Janet (Lesniak) Carrick. She is survived by her son, Matthew Jacopelli, her sisters, Deborah Carrick, and Cindy Craig, brothers Warner (Lisa) Carrick, and Curtis Carrick, and sister Janice Meadows, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 3 to 8pm and Funeral Monday, June 26, 2023 10:30am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
