JAX, Charles Thomas. Passed peacefully at home on November 18, 2021 at age 71. He was the beloved husband of Patricia for 42 years. Proud father of Christina(John) Dadswell and adoring “Papa” to his two granddaughters, Anna and Sophia, who brought him so much joy and laughter. Charles was born to Charles and Edith Jax in 1950 in Mt. Clemens, MI as the youngest of 5 siblings. At the age of 18 he was in a near-fatal car accident which left him wheelchair bound. With dogged determination, he went on to surpass all expectations by achieving his Master’s degree from Wayne State University, as well as many professional honors and certifications. He was a passionate advocate for the rights of the disabled, and pioneered the fight to implement barrier-free design at WSU and MCC campuses while there. Although he endured many health challenges throughout his lifetime, he always remained optimistic. He was truly an inspiration to so many for his fortitude and independence for the past 53 years. He enjoyed traveling, Tigers baseball, and U of M football. His love of God, family, and country were apparent to all who knew him. He was known for his kind and understanding nature, and his “Yes, I can” attitude. He is predeceased by his siblings Barbara(Fred) Nichols, and Richard(Diane) Jax, and sister-in-law Eileen(Michael) Cicone. He is survived by his sisters Frances(Phil) Howard and Marilyn Eason. He was also cherished by his in-laws and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
