DELIA, CAROLYN R. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Rita Delia, who departed this world on March 31, 2025, at the age of 78. Carolyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend whose warmth and wisdom touched the lives of many. Born on June 15, 1946, Carolyn lived a life filled with love, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she cherished. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Anna, and her son-in-law, Brock, as well as to her son, David, and her daughter-in-law, Teisha. Carolyn found immense joy in being a grandmother to her five adored grandchildren: Rebekah, Sarah, Athena, Robert, and Grace. She is survived by her former husband, Salvatore, with whom she shared many years and memories. Carolyn’s love for family extended to her dear siblings—John, Marcy, Larry, and Sharon—and to her nephews, nieces, and cousins, who will forever hold her close in their hearts. As a teacher, Carolyn nurtured young minds with patience and passion, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. Her kindness, intellect, and wisdom made her a cherished friend and mentor to many. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3-9pm with a 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Road (SHELBY TOWNSHIP). Friends and loved ones are also welcome to gather to honor her memory at her church, SS. John and Paul parish, located at 777 28 Mile Road (West of Campground), Washington, MI 48094, on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Instate at 9:30 AM until time of Mass at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the mass. Carolyn’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring commitment to family, education, and her beloved property on Eyster Rd. To honor her legacy, the family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following: Saving Eyster in honor of Carolyn R. Delia – Anyone who knew Carolyn knew how much she loved her home on Eyster Rd. She poured her time, money, blood, sweat, and tears into it! On many occasions, she described the feeling of peace that permeated her soul as she drove home from a hard day's work down the dirt roads to the house. She relished her time on "the slope" tending her rose bushes. She never tired of looking out the windows at the property, cherishing the occasional sight of deer, fox, and hummingbirds. She financed and refinanced that home to keep possession of it and to keep it maintained.
