Bud Milton

MILTON III, GUY EDWARD affectionately known as “Bud,” passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 22, 1951, to Guy Milton II (“Moe”) and Margaret DeVos, Bud was the second of five children and the only boy. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1969 and went on to earn a business degree from Central Michigan University. Bud met the love of his life, Debby, while they were in high school. They married in 1972 and spent 54 wonderful years together. They welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, in 1972 and their son, Trevor, in 1975. Bud worked in purchasing for TRW for more than 30 years before retiring in 2009 to begin what he might have considered his real career at Cracklewood Golf Course. A lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast, Bud played competitive softball well into his 40s and enjoyed racquetballcwith friends from work. His greatest passion, however, was golf. He loved the game and took particular joy in seeing his entire family develop that same passion. While Bud was a devoted father to Jennifer and Trevor, he especially treasured his role as grandfather to Shelby, Lance, Layla, and Samantha. Known simply as “Papa,” he was a constant presence in their lives, attending sporting events, dance recitals, academic celebrations, and countless other activities. He was always proud to cheer them on. Bud will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports, and the joy he found in spending time with those he loved most. Bud was the beloved husband of Debby; loving father of Jennifer (Cale) Hotton and Trevor Milton; and proud Papa of Shelby, Lance, Layla, and Samantha. He was the dearest brother of Cheri (the late Bugsy) Newsome, Deborah Milton, Theresa (Pat) Gutierrez, and Jody (Tom) Reeves. He was also the dear brother-in-law of the late Nadine (the late Ken) Young and Rachelle (the late Richard) Fowler. He is also remembered by many loving nieces and nephews.
