Brian John Bjornholm

Brian John Bjornholm of Sterling Heights, Michigan entered into the presence of the Lord on April 18th, 2026. Brian was the beloved husband of Loretta,nee VanDosen, Bjornholm, loving father to Brittany, nee Bjornholm, (Adam) Baird and Brian (Brittany) Bjornholm II. He was the proud Dziadzia of Brian John Bjornholm III, Beni Joseph Bjornholm, and Aria Loretta Baird. Brother to Gust (Lori) Bjornholm, David Bjornholm, Donna Bjornholm, and Mark (Tori) Bjornholm. He was preceded in death by his parents Gust Bjornholm and Arlene (nee Manczyk) Bjornholm and his sister Deborah (Kevin)McLeay. Brian grew up in Hamtramck, MI playing every sport you can think of with his brothers, best friends Butch and Mark, and many other friends. He was proud of his Polish heritage and would often retell the hilarious stories of his youth and all of the trouble he, his brothers, and friends got into on Neibel street. If you knew Brian, you likely knew one of these stories and for many of you reading this-you were actually there. When he was 16, he was chosen to be the bat boy for the Detroit Tigers-a piece of his life he loved so much. In 1986, Brian married the love of his life, Loretta. Together they had two children-Brittany and Brian II, who were the light of his life. Some of the biggest joys in his world were watching Brian play hockey and going to his daughter’s softball games. Brian was so proud of his family-the one thing that meant the most to him above all. His pride and joy only multiplied when he became Dziadzi to Brian, Beni, and Aria. His favorite days were riding his three munchkins around on his four wheeler and playing with them in the pool during the summer. Brian had many nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished: Ed, Becca, Jenna, Kelly, Katelyn, Nicole, Richard, James, Leah, Brooklyn, Abby, Abel,and great-niece Kaylee. He was an avid hunter and gun collector, could fix anything, loved playing pool and all sports-especially hockey, baseball, and golf, and spent every weekend he could at his cottage in Vanderbilt. He was the true definition of an outdoorsman who was humbled by all that God created. He loved learning, shooting his guns at the range, spending time with his family and grandkids, and being in his garage with his dog Coda. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Instate 9:30am until the time of Mass 10am on Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Peter Catholic Church 95 Market St, Mt Clemens, MI 48043.
