Arlene Teresa Abdella

Arlene Teresa Abdella (nee Allam) passed away peacefully at her home on October 13, 2026. In her final days, her family gathered to say their goodbyes, comfort one another, and surround her with love. They took comfort in knowing she was ready to rest and eager to rejoin her beloved Johnny in Heaven. Born on June 19, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Arlene attended St. David school. Her life changed forever the day she met John Abdella. It was the beginning of an enduring love story. Arlene and John married in 1960 and were blessed with six children. They raised their family on the East side of Detroit before eventually moving to Rochester Hills, Michigan. Professionally, Arlene took great pride in her work as a legal secretary for many years, a career where her sharp mind shined and where she formed many friendships. Through every triumph and tragedy, Arlene stood firmly for one foundational value: FAMILY. Her legacy lives on in the beautiful traditions she cultivated—from hosting legendary holiday dinners featuring homemade Lebanese dishes and visiting her children and grandchildren. She loved her casino trips with her best friends and the hours spent sharing long, heartfelt talks on the phone with her siblings, children, and friends. When John passed away in 2013, a part of Arlene went with him. Navigating the last 13 years without the love of her life was difficult but, with the love of her family she persevered. Her family takes immense comfort in knowing they are finally reunited. Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her parents and parents-in-law; her sister, Margaret Rayes; her brothers-in-law, Joseph and Edward Abdella; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Abdella; and her nephew, Joe Abdella, alongside many other special relatives and friends. She is survived by her six devoted children Teri Davidson (Bill Gravius),Maribeth Kwasneski (Chris), Denise DiFonzo, Jim Abdella (Janna), Kris Cusic, Ed Abdella. Arlene was the adored Siti to 36 grandchildren including their spouses and Grandma Siti to 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her warmth, resilience, and love forward into the world. She will also be missed by her siblings and in-laws whom she shared a mutual bond and forever friendship.
