Abraham Kassa

KASSA, Abraham passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 78. Beloved father of Nina Kassa and Abraham Kassa. Cherished lifelong friend of Natalia Kassa, former wife and the mother of his children. Loving brother, uncle, colleague, mentor, and loyal friend to many. Abraham was born in Keren, Eritrea. He studied polymer science at the D. I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology in Moscow, Russia, where he earned his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Technology. He was well traveled and spoke seven languages with remarkable ease. In 1985, Abraham immigrated to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a better future for his young family. On May 13, 1986, he joined L&L Products, where he spent 35 years as a scientist in R&D. During his distinguished career, he helped secure more than 25 patents, contributing to innovations in adhesives, bonding, and soundproofing technologies that continue to have an impact today. Abraham lived a full and generous life, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues who loved him deeply. He was funny, charismatic, charming, and endlessly curious. He possessed a sharp intellect, a quick wit, and a remarkable ability to see through pretension. He loved politics, spirited debate, and conversations that challenged ideas as much as they brought people together. He was an exceptional cook whose Bolognese sauce became legendary among family and friends. He loved classical music, Ethiopian jazz, soccer, and basketball. He appreciated a well-told joke and never missed an opportunity to laugh. Those who knew Abraham will remember the unmistakable enthusiasm with which he greeted the people he loved. His joyful welcome had a way of making each person feel, if only for a moment, like the most important person in the room. He believed deeply in the power of education, perseverance, and hard work. His own life reflected those values. Arriving in America with little more than determination and an extraordinary work ethic, he built a remarkable career and embodied the promise of the American dream. He is survived by Natalia Kassa; his daughter, Nina Kassa; his son, Abraham Kassa; and a large circle of extended family, lifelong friends, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him. When asked about his life, Abraham's answer was simple: "I have no regrets."
