Loving Memory of Elwin Arthur Andres Elwin Arthur Andres was called home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2025. Born on November 8, 1935, on a humble farm in Waldheim, SK, Elwin was the sixth of eleven children, a cherished son of John and Ella Andres. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved siblings, Benjamin, Edward, Harold, Esther Holmes, Alice Downs, and Martha Williams. At the tender age of eight, Elwin moved with his family to St. Catharines, ON, where he spent his formative years amidst the scenic beauty of the Niagara Peninsula. A bright and diligent student, he graduated from Grade 13 and pursued his calling at Briarcrest Bible College in Caronport, SK, graduating in 1953. With a heart for service, he embarked on further training at Missionary Internship in Detroit, MI. It was during this time, at Highland Park Baptist Church, that he met the love of his life, Phylis Lee Kauffman. Although life closed the door to his dream of serving on the mission field, Elwin's faith remained steadfast. He returned to St. Catharines, where his bond with Phylis deepened. On February 27, 1965, they began their beautiful journey together as husband and wife, celebrating 60 years of love and partnership in 2025. Elwin dedicated his professional life to Bell Canada, Michigan Bell, and AT&T before embarking on his entrepreneurial venture. With his expertise, he founded his own telephone service company and worked with TRW in the final years of his career. A man of few words but a big heart, Elwin lived a life of quiet strength and unwavering devotion. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, reflected in his selfless service to the church communities he belonged to; Mt. Clemens Baptist Church and Bethesda Christian Church. Whether teaching Sunday school, serving on church boards, visiting nursing homes, or lending a helping hand in the nursery or kitchen, Elwin embodied humility and a servant's heart. In addition to his church service, he served as a Volunteer at St Joseph Mercy Hospital for several years. At home, Elwin's hands were never idle. Whether wielding a hammer or a paintbrush, he brought to life the visions his wife imagined, crafting projects with precision and care. His love for his family was a beacon of light, placing them at the very center of his life. Elwin leaves behind a legacy of love and faith cherished by his daughter, Krysten (Larry Arthur), and grandchildren, Brandon and Alexandra Arthur. He will also be deeply missed by his surviving siblings, Helen (Claude Bourque), Linda (Gary Spence), Evelyn (lan Leach), and Donald (Debbie Andres), as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness. Elwin's steadfast love, quiet wisdom, and servant's heart will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of his Lord. Visitation Wednesday 3-8pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Thursday instate 10am at Bethesda Christian Church 14000 Metro Parkway (Enter from Schoenherr) until time of service 11am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
