Warren Eugene Long, II

LONG, Warren Eugene II., Age 84. Warren died peacefully on Sunday, August 18th surrounded by family. He touched all of our lives in endless ways. Growing up, Warren loved the sport of running in track and cross-country. He’s one who truly enjoyed going to school all the way through his Masters degree. One of his best friends was his sister, Jeannie. They had an unbreakable bond, talking almost every day on the phone especially this last year. He loved his family and friends, making the most of the precious time with everyone creating special memories. Warren was a dedicated and loving husband to Anne Long for 60 years, a shining example of wonderful marriage. They spent many trips visiting our national parks. He enjoyed going up north, swimming, fishing, going on boat rides and seeing the sites, especially the Great Lakes and the ocean. Taking the family to Lion’s football games, baseball games, sledding, and other adventures for special bonding time with his kids and grandkids was always special. Warren enjoyed catching up with family in Michigan and all over the country, along with annual parties with friends. Tailgating and going to football games at MSU with his friends was something he looked forward to every fall. He made friends with everyone he met, always had a smile on his face, talked your ears off and, of course, would tell you a silly joke. He was an intelligent person who was successful at his jobs at Ford and Budd Company and made the most out of life and truly enjoyed it. At his retirement party he decided that instead of talking about himself he wrote up cards about all of his coworkers and talked about them. That was Warren. We love him and he will be greatly missed. Cherished husband of Anne for 60 beautiful years. Adored father of Warren "Rennie" Long, Jeffrey (Robin) Long, Bonnie (Todd) Braund and Robert (Lorraine) Keith. Proud grandfather of Gregory (Heather) Long, Rachael Long, Steven Long, Brady Braund and Chloe Braund and great-grandfather to Mackenzie, Jaxson and Patrick. Dear brother of Jeannie (Richard) Hart. Uncle to Richard Hart, Jr., and the late Debbie (John) Nuzzo and great-uncle to Jonathan Nuzzo and David Nuzzo. A celebration of Warren's wonderful life will be announced at a later date.
