HATALA, STEVEN MICHAEL. October 8, 2024. Age 59. Beloved husband of Lynn. Loving and proud father of Erin Hatala and step father of Elizabeth Lico. Dearest son of the late Stephen & the late Barbara Hatala. Dear brother of Jamie (Tom) Beatty & the late Kathy Hatala. Loving son-in-law of Liz (the late Les) Johnson and brother-in-law of Lisa (Steve) O'Green & Lori (Kevin) Wright. Fun and loving uncle of Evan, Colin, Samantha, Emily, Joe, Rebecca & Kevin. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful fur companions, Charm and Viva. A proud alumnus of Oakland University, Steve cherished his time there and carried the spirit of his alma mater with him throughout his life. He was also a passionate hockey player, dedicating many years to the sport he loved, and collected many different sports memorabilia. Steve was an avid outdoorsman whose passion for nature was evident in his love for duck hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours in the great outdoors, finding joy and solace in the beauty of the world around him. He loved the sun, and loved travelling to warm places with his family, including Maui. Lynn and Steve were married on Mackinac Island which led to new family traditions. Lynn and Steve loved to host people and family, have game nights, and supporting their daughters achievements. He truly loved the life they built together. Steve dedicated his entire career to the wire and cable industry, where he was respected for his hard work and commitment. Beyond his professional life, Steve was a proud father serving as a cookie mom during Erin’s Girl Scout days, always supporting her with enthusiasm and dedication. He was a steadfast fan of Erin’s marching band, never missing an opportunity to attend performances and celebrate her achievements. His unwavering support and encouragement meant the world to Erin and made a lasting impact on her life. Steve was also a former member of the St. Michael Knights of Columbus. Visitation Friday from 3-8pm with 7pm Funeral Service at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile).
