In Loving Memory of Richard A Stafford (1933-2023) With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Richard "Rick" Stafford, a devoted father, a loving husband, veteran, a true gentleman, a source of endless laughter, an accomplished automotive designer, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He departed from this world on Sunday, September 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, compassion, and cherished memories. Born on September 23, 1933, Rick was a shining example of grace and kindness throughout his 90 year journey. His warmth, genuine compassion, and sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had the unique ability to brighten even the gloomiest of days with his infectious laughter, optimism, dry sense of humor, common sense and quick wit. As a senior automotive designer and draftsman, Rick made an indelible mark at GM Truck & Chevrolet and previously with various automotive contractors. He had an innate ability to problem solve, focus, was detail oriented, and had highly technical skills. In addition to his remarkable career, Rick was a dedicated family man. His love and devotion to his wife Geraldine "Gerri" Stafford of 63 years, was a testament to the enduring power of love. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. As a father, Rick provided unwavering support, guidance, and love to his children, He instilled in them the values of kindness, hard work, and the importance of family bonds. His cherished role as a grandfather and great-grandfather brought him immeasurable joy. He doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and memorable stories. Rick is survived by his children, Christopher (Eduardo Barbosa) Stafford, Susan (Kevin) Adkins, Mark (Renee) Stafford, and Richard (Lisa) Stafford. His grandchildren Gregory (Katelyn) Adkins, Tracy (Germain) Schmitz, Lauren Stafford, and Kendall Stafford. Great grandchildren Camille Schmitz, Elsie Adkins, Harvey Schmitz and Gavin Adkins. He also was survived by his brother John (MaryAnn) Stafford and was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Pauline Stafford and brother Gerald (Judy) Stafford. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and host a of friends and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory. Per his wishes, Rick was immediately cremated and there will be no funeral arrangements. We would like all his friends and family to pay tribute to a remarkable individual who touched so many and honor his life as they deem appropriate.
