Prek Kola Shkreli

It is with a heavy heart we announce the loss of Prek Kola Shkreli, age 74, November 21, 2020 Beloved husband of Liza for 52 cherished years. Dearest father of Kristina (Michael) Simony, Linda Shkreli and Nick (Lidija) Shkreli. Proud and loving grandfather of Marco, Nick, Ava, Vienna and Nixon. Dear Brother of the late Gjerj, the late Dilja, Ded, Pjetri, Luxhe and Pashko. Preka was a pillar in the Metro Detroit Albanian community. A proud immigrant who came to the states for a better life in 1969. He loved America and all that it gave him and his family. Preka was a very involved father and grandfather. He took pride in setting great examples for them by always instilling integrity, work ethic, and valuing education. He was a God fearing man who attended Mass regularly and always emphasized the importance of having dedication to the Lord. He had a larger than life personality and always made everyone laugh with his endearing sense of humor and signature accent. Preka enjoyed his evening news, the market, auto care, and 80’s movies. His fashion sense and love for style was ahead of his time. One of his favorite hobbies included always maintaining his impeccable lawn. Fun fact, Preka was eternalized on screen with cameos in the movies Cash Only (2016) & Killerman (2019) as a good deed for his son, a filmmaker. A passionate and humble man who would give someone the shirt off of his back. Preka took great pride, in always showing up to give his extended family and friends respect at various gatherings, be it in good times or bad. Our hearts are shattered, he will be dearly missed. He was truly one of a kind. We would like to thank everyone for the love and support we have received and continue to receive. We are so very grateful for your thoughts and prayers. Visitation Friday, November 27th per invite 4-8 pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Twp) 54880 VanDyke at 25 Mile Rd. All are welcome to attend mass on Saturday, November 28th 10:00am (immediate family may gather at 9:30am) at St Paul Albanian Catholic Church. Interment to follow mass at Resurrection Cemetery. I commend you, my dear Father to almighty God, and entrust you to your Creator. May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life. May Christ who was crucified for you, bring you freedom and peace. May Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise. May Christ, the true Shepherd, embrace you as one of his flock. May he forgive all your sins, and set you among those he has chosen. May you see your Redeemer face to face, and enjoy the vision of God, forever.
