Peter Albert Petitpren

Peter peacefully passed away in his home on September 13, 2023 of natural causes. Peter was born in Wayne, Michigan in 1961 to Vincent and Joan Marie (Phillips) Petitpren. Peter was preceded in passing by his parents and his brother Vincent D. (Connie Petitpren) is survived by sisters Victoria (Robert Cameron), Patricia (James M. Laurain, Jr.) and Paula (Layne Wiggins), Nieces and nephews: Ian (Mari), Jessica (Brian), Ami (David), Dante (Olivia), Monique, Angi, Tyler (Meela) and James (Rebekah), Axel (AJ), and Irene. Great nieces and nephews: Genevieve, David, James, Lila, Louie, and Felix. Great-Great niece: Ember. Peter earned an Electrical Technician Associate’s Degree and had a 40+ years career in real-estate and property management including building custom homes, managing apartment buildings on Wayne State University’s campus, and dozens of residential income properties in Wayne county. In 2000, Peter relocated to south Florida. There Peter worked as a professional interior painter for several years before returning to Michigan. In addition, Peter independently owned and managed his own income property. Peter gave himself earnestly, especially to those in need in his in volunteer work. Peter had courage, strength, and perseverance beyond what we will ever know and recently celebrated his 25th year of sobriety. Peter in his leisure time enjoyed sailing, deep sea fishing, bicycling and golfing. Throughout Peter's life rarely did he look to be the center of attention. Instead, he brought light into the room with his creative ideas, thoughtful perspectives and his warm laughter. Peter sought to take care of his family, friends and community. Many would agree that his sparkling blue-green eyes and broad smiles will be remembered, always. We are grateful for the blessing of having Peter in our lives and he will be profoundly missed. Visitation 2:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 28th at Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral Home on 36900 Schoenherr Road, Sterling Heights.. Mass is being held at 11:00 am of Friday, September 29th at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Ave, Detroit. He will be laid to rest after directly after mass at 12:45 pm at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Road, Dearborn Heights.
