Nancy Anne-Pakula Watson

Nancy Anne-Pakula Watson April 14, 1960 - September 7, 2023 Nancy Watson, loving sister, wife and mother passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest at the young age of 63 in Clinton Township, MI on the morning of September 7, 2023. Nancy Pakula was born April 14, 1960 in Detroit, MI and was the third and youngest child of Walter and Mary Pakula. She attended school at Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Detroit, MI and graduated in 1978 from Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods, MI. She began her work career at the JL Hudson’s store in the Eastland Mall and then worked in store support at Kmart Headquarters in Troy, MI for over 10 years. Nancy enjoyed many things in life, but most important to her were; love of family, caring for animals and helping others. Her love for family started early, being raised in Detroit, MI surrounded by family and relatives, she enjoyed her young life to the fullest while living on Suzanne Street. She has shared many fond memories of those early years including teaming up with her brother Tom to torment their older sister Karen. She stayed close to her family after marrying Michael in 1988 and raising their 3 children by moving just across the street from her parents. She loved to celebrate with her family and enjoyed seeing everyone at weddings, holidays, birthdays, trips to the cottage, school events and croquet tournaments. Nancy never went very long without caring for one of her 4 legged friends and it didn’t matter how their paths crossed, only that they did. She left behind her dear Coda, her grand puppy Maggie and her adopted stray cat Stella. Other animals that she had loved dearly were; Ringo, Blackie, Sasha, Coco and Jaggy. Nancy was also recognized by just about every pet in the neighborhood because she rarely went anywhere without a Milk Bone in her pocket. Nancy left her work life behind in 1995 to raise her 3 children but she was anything but a stay at home Mom. She spent the next 20 years helping to support whatever activities her kids were involved with at the time. She spent countless hours helping others by becoming an active member of many groups, such as; Huron Elementary PTO, Chippewa Valley HS Band Boosters, International Academy of Macomb’s Robotics team and the many sporting teams she supported throughout the years. She also would lend a hand to others in the neighborhood whenever needed by taking care of their pets while they were away. She loved helping others and that brought her much joy and many friends throughout her years. Nancy is survived by; husband Michael Watson, daughter Rachelle [Jason] Manasseri, sons Brendan Watson and Garrett Watson, sister Karen Wolin and brother Thomas Pakula. Cremation has taken place and services will be private. Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace.
