Predeceased by her loving brother, Vincenzo. Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Antonio Roberto. Lived in Sao Paulo, Brasil from June 1956 for 20 years. Arrived in Detroit with her children to be reunioned with her husband after 13 months apart in 1976. Loving mother of Teresa (Alberto) Maiorano, Miguel (Maria Francesca) Guglielmetti, Santa (Benedicto) Cecchini, Paulo (Elizabeth) Guglielmetti, and Rosana (Richard) Hull. Cherished grandmother of Melissa (Zachary) Wierenga, Marcelo (Kathleen Maynard) Maiorano, Liane, Dr. Ariana (Brett Swick), Vincenzo (Rachel) Guglielmetti, Renata (Paulo) Silveira, Rafael (Juliana) Parrila, Rayja Parrila, Salvatore, Mario Cecchini, Anna (Jacob) Llewellyn, Antonio Roberto (Ashley) Guglielmetti, John Kaiser III, Gabriela Guglielmetti, Nicklaus (Jordon) Kaiser, Gino Guglielmetti, Sofia, Gabriel, and Laura Hull. Adored great grandmother of Luca & Marco Antonio Wierenga, Cecilia, Maelle, Lucia & Manuela Maiorano, Fernando Guglielmetti Silveira, Victor & Rafaella Parrila, Tayah, Harrison & baby Llewellyn, Paulo Jeffrey Guglielmetti and Jack Kaiser. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews around the world. Maria loved to be with extended family, telling stories and cooking for her grand and great grandchildren. They all knew they could find breadsticks, pizzelles and peanut M&Ms waiting for them with each visit. She was proud of her seamstress skills making many complex clothing for her husband, children when they were young and other family members. In her later years you would find her knitting shawls, baby blankets and scarves for her family. She was happiest surrounded by her extended family. She loved her nuns of the Congregazione delle Suore Missionarie Cathechiste di Gesu Redentore that raised her between the ages 11-20 in Collalto Sabino and Roma, Italia. She was known for her deep faith. She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, respect for family and friends as well as sacrifice and hard work. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday from 3-8pm with a 6 pm Rosary Friday evening at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate Saturday 9:30am until the time of the 10am Mass at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 38900 Dodge Park Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.
